The New Tilak Bridge is proposed to be built from Padmabai Thakker Road & Pandurang Naik Marg/Bal Govindas Road (on the Western side) to the Lady Jahangir & Ambedkar Road (on the Eastern side) as shown in the Map from D2 to D4.

We also build two ramp-up bridges on the Senapati Bapat Road on the West linking themselves to the New Tilak Bridge, and one ramp-down bridge on the Lady Jahangir Road on the East, landing down at the Lakhamshi Nappu Road as shown in the Map from A6 & A7 up to A8. And in between these two ramp-ups (on the West) and the one ramp-down (on the East) we ensure that the New Tilak Bridge is a 6-Lane wide bridge, because we will need that kind of width, since we will have feeder connectors from Senapati Bapat Road (A6 & A7), getting more traffic till it reaches its final destination on the East. |
3. |
On the East, the New Tilak Bridge will split in three parts. The first will be the right-most lane that will turn right and land down on to Lakhamshi Nappu Road helping the traffic ease into Hindu Colony or towards Matunga East. The second will be the left-most lane that will land down on Lady Jahangir Road, easing the South Mombai bound traffic go south by turning right under the Nanalal Mehta Flyover. The third is the 3-lane wide section of the NTB that by default turns left, adjoining itself to the Nanalal Mehta Flyover. This 3-lane wide central arm of the NTB will let the traffic decide whether it wishes to land down before the Maheshwari Udyan Circle or whether it lets the user move on the Nanalal Mehta flyover on or towards Chembur. |
4. |
We also slice off two-lane worth of road space from the Veer Kotwal Garden and add the same to the present-day N. C. Kelkar Road in front of Plaza Theatre, thus eliminating the present-day circumvention of the Veer Kotwal Garden by vehicles when going down to the West. The only casualty of all this being that the traffic island with the Kavdiwala Bhajiwala will go and the Bhajiwala will have to be moved to the newly laid Veer Kotwal Garden's corner. It is pertinent to note here, that during the construction of all of the above bridges we are ending up not affecting the present day traffic at all. |
5. |
And then we execute the Final Transformation by making the Old Tilak Bridge a Westward bound One-Way from the Khodadad Circle right up to Sena Bhavan as shown in the Map from A1 to A1. |
6. |
We then push northwards the Sena Bhavan Signal’s northern end and thus widen the signal’s reach by bringing the Padmabai Thakker Road within the signal’s ambit. And then make the Padmabai Thakker Road an Eastward bound One-Way with a ramp-up bridge leading itself to the East on to the Lady Jahangir Road (this being the Proposed New Tilak Bridge) as shown in the Map from D2 to D4. |
